Henry County is location in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the southern Piedmont region of Virginia. Henry County was named for Patrick Henry, who lived here from 1780 to 1784. Martinsville & Henry County is proud to be a part of Virginia's Racing Region by playing host to 2 Nascar Nextel Cup Series races annually.Starting in 2006, Nascar has announced that Martinsville Speedway will also host a Nascar Busch Series night race on its regular schedule.
